Naturopathy
What is a naturopath?
Naturopaths are trained in nutritional, herbal and homeopathic medicine, and also have extensive knowledge of medical conditions, treatments and drugs. Naturopaths often work in conjunction with mainstream doctors to provide a more holistic treatment approach with a strong focus on prevention of illness as well as providing alternative medicines such as herbs and nutritional supplements to help heal the body in times of stress and illness.
What are the benefits of naturopathy?
Naturopathy can support every aspect of your health and vitality. The foundation of Naturopathy is based on the philosophy of the healing power of nature and treating the whole person. We must firstly do no harm, then find and treat the cause by supporting the body's own innate healing energy through the use of herbs, nutraceuticals, diet and lifestyle.
What is a naturopathic consultation?
An initial naturopathic consultation lasts 60-75mins and involves a thorough health history including all body systems, focussing on any current health concerns. Relevant family history, medications and supplements, current pathology, as well as detailed diet and lifestyle information will be assessed and evaluated. Your goals and expectations will be discussed and a treatment plan will be designed, tailored to your needs and your health goals. Any recommendations for referrals will also be discussed.
What is a treatment plan?
A unique treatment plan is one that will be tailored to your specific needs and may include a practitioner grade herbal mixture which is made specifically for your individual health concerns, practitioner grade herbal supplements, nutritional supplements, minerals and dietary and lifestyle advice for your particular health condition or concern.
